■ "That's Why I'm Making Farmers Stars: The Challenge of Taberu Tsushin" by Takahashi Hiroyuki
Published in July 2013, "Tohoku Taberu Tsushin" is the first monthly information magazine to include food. Editor-in-Chief Takahashi Hiroyuki wanted to "give a full glimpse into the food industry. By delivering food grown by Tohoku producers to urban consumers in a way that also reveals the background of that food, I want to create a connection between producers and consumers." This is the inspiration behind the creation of this new media format, where information about outstanding regional producers and the exceptional food they produce are delivered to readers together.
This book is a collection of essays by Takahashi. The book records efforts to change Japan's primary industries from Tohoku, and the passionate aspirations of Takahashi as he travels around the country to meet producers every day.
On July 16th, a talk event will be held in the event space on the second floor of Tsutaya Bookstore Building 1, in which author Takahashi Hiroyuki will be invited to talk about the story behind the creation of "Tohoku Taberu Tsushin," as well as himself and his future new activities. You can participate in the event with a participation ticket that you will receive when you purchase this book at Daikanyama Tsutaya Bookstore. Applications are currently being accepted in-store, by phone, and through the online store. (※Registration will close once the maximum capacity of 60 people is reached)
