Shibuya is covered in yukata!? "Shibuya Summer Festival" hospitality event held in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics

Jul 15, 2015

With the Tokyo Olympics five years away in mind, the Shibuya Summer Festival, an event themed around "hospitality" and "cultural dissemination," will be held around Shibuya Station from July 18th to August 2nd.

The Shibuya Summer Festival brings together large commercial facilities, local shopping districts, and local businesses. This year marks the second time the festival has been held, and participating stores, including SHIBUYA109, 109MEN'S, Shibuya Hikarie, Shibuya PARCO, Shibuya Marui, and Seibu Shibuya, will be holding sales, special offers, and events. Yukata (summer kimono) sales, yukata set rentals, and dressing services will also be available at Tokyu Department Store Main Branch, Tokyu Department Store Toyoko Branch, SHIBUYA109, 109MEN'S, and Seibu Shibuya.

Additionally, "Work in a Yukata! SHIBUYA COOL BIZ DAY" will be held on July 31st. Under the theme of "Stylish Cool Biz," unique to Shibuya, approximately 300 employees from 20 Shibuya-based companies will be wearing yukata to work, adding a touch of glamour to the office district during the day and brightening up the town in yukata at night.

In addition, during the period, a "Shibuya Summer Festival Promotional Movie" will be screened on the large screen Q'S EYE in front of the station, further livening up the summer festival atmosphere.
