Fashion designer Keita Maruyama will be hosting an event at Isetan Shinjuku from July 8th to 14th, showcasing his yukata designs, titled "KEITA MARUYAMA × ISETAN YUKATA Japanese Summer - Japanese Love." The event will be held at The Stage #1 on the first floor of the main building. The event will explore the yukata as a summer wardrobe that elevates you, something you want to wear for someone, like love, and will showcase his new take on Japanese summer yukata with a real-life feel. In addition to showcasing eight yukata designs, the event will also feature a fireworks-patterned yukata (¥48,000) created in collaboration with MYLAN, a brand created by Maruyama and stylist Keiko Sasaki, and a chintz-inspired yukata (¥48,000) created in collaboration with HOUSE OF LOTUS, a brand created by model and actress Karen Kirishima.
In addition, the store will offer yukata that reproduce patterns that Maruyama Keita previously designed for his own brand, such as "Beckoning Cat" and "Goldfish," yukata that incorporate some polyester materials, clutch bags designed by Maruyama to match the yukata, charms, corsages, fans, parasols and other Japanese goods that reflect Maruyama's unique worldview.
As part of the event, on July 10th, an event titled "Yukata Party @ Isetan Salone" (6:00 PM to 9:00 PM) will be held at Isetan Salone on the 1st and 2nd floors of Tokyo Midtown Galleria, along with a talk event with Maruyama Keita and Kirishima Karen (7:00 PM to 7:30 PM).
