Actress Marilyn Monroe was born June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She died August 5, 1962. She began working at age 16, married for the first time in 1942, and divorced after four years. She was discovered as a model and made her debut in showbiz. Her acting debut in 1947 appeared in the film "The Shocking Miss Pilgrim," but her career didn't take off. She later debuted her distinctive "Monroe Walk" in her starring role in "Niagara." Her success in films like "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and "How to Marry a Millionaire" solidified her image as a "dumb blonde." In 1955, she founded "Marilyn Monroe Productions" to establish herself as a mainstream actress, and produced her first film, "Bus Stop," in 1956.
