Starting August 1st, Glorious Chain Cafe, a cafe and diner run by DIESEL, will be offering a hearty and satisfying "Philly cheesesteak" (1,380 yen), a unique sandwich, exclusively at its Shibuya location. The Philly cheesesteak, which originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is relatively unfamiliar in Japan, but is a staple in the region, often referred to as the "American beef bowl." The juicy beef steak is marinated in honey and a variety of spices, including paprika, cumin, and oregano, and then grilled, then sandwiched with onions in a crispy baguette. The restaurant intentionally uses thick beef and baguette, and finishes it off with a generous amount of smooth cheddar cheese sauce simmered in white wine. A summer drink that pairs perfectly with the Philly cheesesteak will also be available. Alcoholic drinks include the "Passion Cherry Coke" (770 yen), which combines passion fruit liqueur with cherry syrup; the original mango squash beer cocktail "Mango Colony Tapanache" (910 yen); and the No. 1 craft beer in the United States, "Blue Moon" (820 yen), characterized by its light bitterness and subtle sweetness. Non-alcoholic drinks include the "Caramel Iced Chai Float" (790 yen), "Ginger Lemongrass Iced Tea" (650 yen), and "Cranberry Mint Squash" (670 yen). Also, from August 1st to 31st, if you take a photo of any of the new summer drinks and post it on social media with the hashtag "#gloriouschaincafe," you'll receive a free appetizer at the Glorious Chain Cafe Shibuya branch.
