Mint Designs x Medicom Toy Zigzag Pattern Goods [Today's Omiya]

Jul 30, 2015

As a special edition of "Today's Item," a daily column showcasing recommended products from our editorial team, we're introducing "Tokyo souvenirs" selected by fashion and beauty industry insiders, running until July 31st. This is the season when many people bring gifts for seasonal greetings or when returning home. If you're having trouble deciding what to bring, check out this list of top picks from our discerning customers.

Today, we're featuring items from the "FABRICK" series, a collaboration between mintdesigns and MEDICOM TOY, recommended by Mari Terasawa, a buyer for the Young NB1 department in the Women's & Children's Department at Isetan Mitsukoshi.

"Every season, I'm focusing on cute patterns," says Terasawa. For the 2015-2016 Autumn/Winter season, comic book speech bubble and zigzag patterns are featured. While the lineup ranges from backpacks and shoulder bags to laptop cases and small accessories, Terasawa says, "Card cases, pen cases, and glasses cases are popular due to their size and price point, making them perfect for gifts." The stain-resistant PVC-coated cotton canvas is printed with an irregular zigzag pattern, creating a playful design. The bifold card case (3,400 yen), square-opening glasses case (4,600 yen), and zippered pen case (3,800 yen), all available at Isetan Shinjuku, are highly recommended items in this versatile and functional series. Available in two colors: white and beige, and pink and beige. "With demand for stylish glasses on the rise for both men and women, glasses cases are a great gift for both men and women. They'll be even happier if you add a message like, 'You always wear stylish glasses...'" (Terasawa).
