Valentino presented its 2016 Spring/Summer Men's Collection in Paris on June 24th. This season's theme was "traveler." Based on understated earth tones, the collection blended Hawaiian, safari, ethnic, and punk rock influences to create a modern masculine image. Tropical elements, such as aloha shirts featuring pineapples and palm leaves and blousons embroidered with hibiscus motifs, were paired with suits in muted beige and safari colors and slim pants for a refined look. The season's key theme, the happy floral motif, also made an appearance in accessories. From bold, all-over designs to half-sized designs, the collection featured backpacks, clutches, and the season's signature flat crossbody bags and knapsacks. Additionally, Valentino's signature stud details were mixed with turquoise to decorate the bags in an exotic way, while the sneakers were decorated with intricate bead embroidery that exuded an ethnic and craft-like feel.
On the day of the show, many celebrities, including former soccer player Hidetoshi Nakata, fashion icon Jeanne Damas, and fashion blogger Bryanboy, visited the venue dressed in Valentino items.
