Like last time, Hedi Slimane's Saint Laurent held its show at the Carreau du Temple, a former marketplace and event space in the 3rd arrondissement. The front row was filled with actors like Gary Oldman and Pierce Bronsnan, as well as Lenny Kravitz and France's national rock singer, Johnny Hallyday, and his wife, creating a glamorous atmosphere befitting the Spring/Summer 2016 men's collection. The "SAINT LAURENT COLLECTION XIX" collection, also boasted a glamorous atmosphere, rivaling the celebrities. This season, the collection was inspired by modern California surf music and presented a hedonistic feel. While exuding Hedi Slimane's signature rock vibe, the collection also incorporated polka dots and floral motifs to add a touch of cuteness to the feminine mood of the previous season.
The variety of items, including classic suits, denim jackets, riders, and camouflage military jackets, was unmatched in this season's men's collection, but the standout item was the stadium jumper, a key item this season. Adorned with intricate embroidery, typical of a couture house, this breathtakingly beautiful jumper was also featured.
While the silhouettes were simple, items with elaborate details and materials were introduced one after the other, captivating the audience until the very end.
