Kyoto BAL, which opened as a fashion building in 1970, will hold its grand opening in Kawaramachi, Kyoto on August 21st after a two-year and seven-month hiatus. The address is 251 Yamazakicho, Kawaramachi-dori Sanjo-sagaru, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City.

The new Kyoto BAL, which spans two basement floors and six aboveground floors, was designed with the image of an old American building on the exterior and a spacious hotel-like interior. The floor area is approximately 18,561.75 square meters, and although it would normally be large enough to accommodate over 100 stores, only 33 stores have been selected. Spaces have been prepared to express the concept and individuality of each brand, allowing customers to enjoy shopping and experience the unique worldview of each brand.

Of the 33 stores opening, three will be large stores with a total sales floor area of over 1500m2: "Ron Herman," "MUJI / Found MUJI," and "MARUZEN," which is returning to Kyoto for the first time in 10 years. Among them, "Ron Herman / RH CAFE," which will open on the top sixth floor, is expected to be the brand's largest store in terms of sales floor area in Japan or elsewhere, including a cafe. It will also be one of the largest Ron Herman stores in Japan on its own. Inside the store, customers can enjoy shopping for apparel and living goods in a comfortable space, and can also relax in the attached cafe.

Also opening will be "TODAY'S SPECIAL," which will carry food-related items, gardening items, apparel, and more; "RACHEL ASHWELL SHABBY CHIC Couture," which will carry everything from custom-made sofas and beds to vintage furniture, linens such as bedding and towels, and body care products such as bath salts and soaps; as well as many stores opening for the first time in Japan, the Kansai region, or Kyoto, including "THE CONRAN SHOP," "CABaN HAYAMA," and "KOTOSHINA."

Other select shops that will be opening include "ESTNATION," "AMERICAN RAG CIE," and "TOMORROWLAND."
