Louis Vuitton unveiled new pieces for its "Objet Nomade Collection," a travel-inspired collaboration with various artists, at the international design fair Design Miami. Eleven designers reinterpret Louis Vuitton's "Art of Travel" from their own unique perspectives, creating pieces that express the intersection of savoir-faire and design. The new pieces include the "Blossom Stool" by Japanese designer and artist Tokujin Yoshioka, who is participating in the project for the first time, and the fur-themed "Cocoon" by Brazilian design duo Fernando & Humberto Campana. Regarding his reason for participating in this project, Yoshioka commented, "I wanted to interpret Louis Vuitton's philosophy and challenge myself to express a new journey through time by using my own expression and techniques to create a piece that travels through history and the future." Regarding the "Blossom Stool," he said, "I envisioned something symbolic, using the Quattrofoil motif to represent the petals of Louis Vuitton's signature monogram, which was born from a natural structure. Using the time-honored craftsmanship Louis Vuitton has cultivated over its long history, using the techniques used in wood and leather, I created an object with a structure created from four petal parts, an iconic and symbolic object with a powerful message." An installation featuring the collection, including new pieces, is currently being held at the LOUIS VUITTON DESIGN DISTRICT STORE in Miami.
