Fendi unveils VIP "The Happy Room" at Design Miami

Dec 7, 2016

FENDI unveiled "THE HAPPY ROOM," a furniture collection in collaboration with Cristina Celestino, at Design Miami 2016, a design fair held in Miami from November 30 to December 4. Cristina Celestino designed her first traveling furniture collection for VIP rooms. Featuring a soft, pale color palette reminiscent of 1950s Italian design, the collection features simple volumes and rounded shapes, and incorporates several iconic FENDI elements, such as the distinctive arches of Rome's Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. Of particular note is "Etere," a special resin fur treatment that Cristina Celestino first experimented with for FENDI. A large mirrored screen is decorated with let-out fur panels, evocative of the Astuccio fur cape, launched by Fendi in 1971. The alternating use of contrasting materials creates a three-dimensional effect, changing the impression.
