The annual Christmas market will be held from December 17th to 18th in front of the United Nations University in Aoyama, Tokyo.
The theme of this event is "Craft Christmas." The market will feature a popular annual event: a tasting of "Stollen," a traditional German fermented pastry. 25 varieties of stollen will be available from specialty bakeries across Japan, including Katane Bakery, Yoshida Pan Kobo, Setune Bon Nidée, Bäckerei Konditorei Hidaka, and KOUB. Prices range from ¥1,800 for five pieces, ¥2,500 for ten pieces, and ¥3,300 for fifteen pieces. Mulled wine made with seasonal fruit that would otherwise be discarded will also be available. This mulled wine will be offered as part of the "Disco Soup" event, which creatively solves the food waste problem.
Other activities include workshops where you can make gentle, fragrant beeswax candles, Christmas wreaths made from natural plants, and icing cookies and original wrapping. Artist Yuriko Ueda will be the instructor for beeswax candle making. In addition, there will be a large gathering of popular bakeries from the Aoyama Bread Festival and popular coffee shops from the Tokyo Coffee Festival, as well as tableware, chocolate, a bookstore, a flower shop, and food carts offering cuisine from around the world.
