The Christmas market "OMOTESANDO HILLS CHRISTMAS MARKET 2015 supported by STAR OF BOMBAY" will be held from December 3rd to 25th at Space O, an event space on the third basement floor of the Omotesando Hills main building.
From November 5th to December 25th, Omotesando Hills will be holding a Christmas promotion with a "Christmas Party" theme throughout the building. The large atrium staircase will be illuminated with lights under the theme of "A Place Where People Gather: A Garden Party Under the Tree." An 8-meter-tall Christmas tree adorned with a mistletoe chandelier will be placed in the center, creating a gorgeous garden party-inspired atmosphere.
This Christmas market was coordinated by Ba to Ma, the company that designed the Christmas tree and staged the event. It depicts the story of "a market where people stop by to purchase Christmas presents and party goods before heading to this 'garden party.'" Belgian ornaments, as well as mistletoe trees and wreaths, will be on sale at the market. Also available will be interior accessories and room diffusers, making their first appearance in Japan this winter, making them perfect for gifts. The lineup also includes Christmas goods from H.P.FRANCE, interior goods from FAKE FURNITURE, mistletoe and plants by Sachiko Yokoyama, drinks from Why Juice?, and chocolates from Yamamoto Shoten. A garden cafe will also be open within the market as a gathering place. It will offer small plates such as roasted Aboton pork and sausages from Chiba, as well as authentic food such as mussels stewed in white wine. A variety of cocktails featuring Star of Bombay, the super-premium gin that will be released in November, will also be available. Additionally, a corner of the cafe will feature a sweets installation called "Waffle Merry-Go-Round," produced by Sayoko Yajima of kloka, a creative studio that specializes in installations and spatial design. Stick waffles, baked in the shape of a stick, rotate like a merry-go-round, and are topped with toppings like chocolate crunch, nuts, and cornflakes. Additionally, on December 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 23rd, and 24th, workshops will be held to create original Christmas items. Using stamps by art director Jun Horide, who works as part of the creative unit holiday, and silkscreens by illustrator Koji Habayashi, participants will create stockings for Santa presents and gift bags. Participation costs 2,000 yen.
