CHANEL is hosting a pop-up boutique in a mansion in Paris's Marais district until May 31, 2017.
Hotel Amelot de Bisseuil, once home to French industrialist Beaumarchais and a venue for lavish parties, is now a designated French national heritage site. CHANEL has now opened two boutiques in parts of the mansion.
The two boutiques deviate from CHANEL's traditional codes, leaving both spaces intentionally untouched. The exposed stone walls are simply adorned with transparent glass facades, and the floors are covered in a resin resembling light-resistant steel, creating an austere, aged metallic atmosphere. The minimalist interior features black clothes racks and several glass and wood console tables.
The first boutique, located on the left, offers ready-to-wear and accessories in a single 130-square-meter space. The second boutique on the right sells shoes in a space of just 36 square metres, designed like a great artist's studio.
