Pierre Hardy has been the creative director of jewelry at Hermès for 15 years. He has pursued the essence of Hermès through free-form creations that distinguish him from previous jewelry designs that relied on gemstones. Hermès is hosting "ECRIN D'OR" at The Stage on the first floor of the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku store until December 13th. "ECRIN D'OR" means "golden jewelry box" in French. Five exceptional gold jewelry collections in pink, yellow, and white gold are brought together under one roof. Pierre Hardy's creative ideas are brought to life by artisans skilled in all craftsmanship. One collection, "Sangle Hermès," features a necklace and bracelet crafted in white gold and diamonds, inspired by the house's roots in saddlery. The exquisite techniques of our jewellery artisans have resulted in an exceptionally supple fabric of gold and diamonds.
The "Gallop Hermès" collection, which expresses the Maison's iconic horse design in jewellery, combines extremely rare pink gold with blue sapphires. The lineup includes rings adorned with sapphires in the silhouette of a dynamic horse's head, and spiral torsade necklaces.
The "Chaîne d'Ancre Enchaînée" is a modern take on the "Chaîne d'Ancre" silver chain, inspired by a ship's anchor chain, designed by Robert Dumas in 1938. The "Fillet d'Or" collection continues the legacy of the "Fillet de Sel," a bracelet inspired by a horse bit, created in 1927 as Hermès' first jewellery piece, and connects it to the present day. The elegant curves of the bit are gracefully expressed in white gold and diamonds.
Named after the scientific name of the Nile crocodile, "Niloticus" faithfully and supplely expresses the crocodile skin pattern in gold. The shape of the spots is also different, just like a real crocodile. The arrangement is symmetrical around the diamond barrettes, just as the spots on a crocodile are symmetrical across the spine.
The exhibition was designed by Antoine Platteau, who also designed the window display for Hermès' Paris Faubourg Saint-Honoré store. We invite you to immerse yourself in the world of "Ecrin d'Or" with leather objects reminiscent of the "Kelly" and "Birkin" bags.
