CHANEL will release its new Derby shoes for its 2016-2017 Cruise Collection in late November.
These new shoes for the 2016-2017 Cruise Collection are inspired by Cuba and Paris. Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has reimagined the two-tone shoe, first conceived by Gabrielle Chanel in 1957, with his own unique sensibility. Traditional men's shoemaking techniques are evident in the wide welt and stitching on the natural leather sole.
The uppers are crafted from a variety of materials, including wrinkled leather, smooth leather, patent leather, exotic leather, and perforated leather. The colors are inspired by the vibrant color palette that illuminates Cuba's capital, Havana, with luxurious patchwork standing out against elegant white English embroidery.
In addition to a short black-and-white film by Chanel spokesperson and ambassador Caroline de Maigret, Polaroids of Korean musician G-DRAGON and French actress Cecile Cassel wearing the new shoes have also been released.
