On December 8th, NikeLab released the fourth collaboration with Riccardo Tisci: the new Chelsea boots "NIKELAB Air Zoom Legend x RT" (35,000 yen).
These boots were inspired by the seamless integration of the sea and land in Rio de Janeiro. They are based on the sole of the Nike Aqua Boot, which was released in 1990 as a shoe for water sports like sailing and windsurfing and also gained popularity on the street.
Two models are available this time: one features a basketball-inspired black mesh upper with a colorful heel and an icy outsole; the other features a black jacquard with gray floral embroidery and a white midsole. In contrast to the minimalist uppers, both styles feature a geometric midsole design on the outsole, inspired by the winding sidewalks of Rio's Copacabana Beach. The leather lining, pull tab, and footbed also feature a Riccardo Tisci logo and a heel clip with a star and Nike Swoosh. "I wanted to combine Nike's rich boot experience with my beloved Chelsea boots," Tisci said of the shoes. "The Nike Aqua Boot and SFB Boot were embraced by niche sports communities and became beloved classics. I designed the Air Force 1 Boot for our first collaboration in 2014, and I knew I could create more of these sports styles."
