NikeLab and UNDERCOVER's collaborative running collection, "NikeLab GYAKUSOU," will release new items for the 2016 holiday season.
The two brands have collaborated for the past six years to create various running apparel. The 2016 holiday season features innovative Nike technologies such as AeroReact and Aeroloft, as well as Quickburst® zippers, a first for Nike apparel, to help athletes keep running during the cold winter months. Additionally, select items feature Nike's transform design for easy folding and storage. The collection also features contrasting colors, a departure from the collection's previous subdued palette, resulting in a collection characterized by unexpected color combinations.
The "Track Jacket" (Men's, ¥40,000) subtly deviates from the typical running wear silhouette and is designed for athletes to wear before and after runs. The knit sleeves are designed to allow for easy elbow bending, and laser-cut underarm vents improve ventilation. The perfect pairing for this track jacket are the men's track pants (¥25,000), which feature a three-layer stretch fabric for weather protection and ease of movement. The ribbed cuffs add a modern touch, and the back features a three-dimensional pocket. The packable jacket (¥22,000) is a lightweight and functional running jacket perfect for bad winter weather. The front is water-repellent, and the sleeves and "GYAKUSOU" logo on the chest are reflective. The packable design allows the jacket to be easily stored in a pouch for easy transport. The Zip-Off Aeroloft Jacket (¥30,000) uses Nike Aeroloft technology to expel excess heat and moisture through vents when your body temperature rises. The sleeves feature Quickburst® zippers, allowing runners to easily remove them and wear them as a vest. The removed sleeves can also be stored in the back pocket.
Other items include the "AeroReact 1/2 Zip Hoodie" (15,000 yen), which uses Nike AeroReact to respond to runners' changing body temperature; the "Dri-FIT Tee" (6,500 yen), which uses soft Nike Dri-FIT material to absorb sweat and keep you comfortable; and the "Fly Vent Shorts" (16,000 yen), which use laser-perforated breathable Dri-FIT material to keep you cool and comfortable. Other products on offer include the "Dri-FIT Utility Tights" (22,000 yen), which combine the storage capacity of shorts pockets and the body-hugging style with the compression of tights; the "Dri-FIT Power Speed Tights" (18,000 yen), which apply pressure to key muscles such as the hips, thighs, and shins to provide a stable fit that firmly supports the athlete's legs while running; and the "LunaEpic Flyknit Shield" (22,000 yen including tax), which uses a durable water-repellent coating on the Flyknit yarn to keep your feet warm and dry.
