Ulysse Nardin's connection to the sea runs as deep as the ocean itself. In 1846, Ulysse Nardin pioneered watchmaking innovation, establishing its reputation for the unparalleled accuracy of its marine chronometers—robust navigational instruments that allow sailors to calculate longitude at sea. Now, with the launch of the Diver X Skeleton, Ulysse Nardin reaffirms its position as a watchmaker at heart of the sea.
In 2019, Ulysse Nardin unveiled the Diver X Cape Horn, Point Nemo and Antarctica, celebrating the courage of the navigators of the Vendée Globe solo round-the-world yacht race. Now, to celebrate its 175th anniversary, Ulysse Nardin is further evolving the Diver X design by removing the dial and revealing a skeletonized version.
A horological enigma for Ulysse Nardin that combines the two worlds of the Diver and Executive Skeleton, the Diver X Skeleton, a skeleton diving watch limited to 175 pieces, is the most advanced evolution of the Diver X, taking a bold step forward in the pursuit of transparency while retaining its sporty appeal.
The new hero watch in the Diver collection, the Diver X Skeleton, is an explosive, destined fusion of the Diver's sporty design and the technical prowess of the Executive Skeleton.

Like all Ulysse Nardin diver's watches, the Diver X Skeleton is designed to withstand the lethal pressure experienced at a depth of 200 meters. To achieve this, it features a concave unidirectional rotating bezel and a domed sapphire crystal that protects against accidental impacts.
The engineering team completely redesigned the UN-371 movement visible through the 44mm case. Originally designed for the EXECUTIVE SKELETON collection, the movement now features Ulysse Nardin's iconic "X" rotor. The barrel cover, crafted from the same blue Carbonium® as the bezel, is located at 12 o'clock. The hour, minute and second hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, making it easy to read the time underwater.
The dial connection of the Diver X Skeleton was one of the most technically complex developments ever undertaken by Ulysse Nardin, based on the request that the X shape be maintained in blue PVD. The hour markers had to be discreetly connected to the dial, appearing to float. To create the impression of depth, the central "X"'s hierarchical structure was emphasized using overlapping layers. The different levels of finishing create a play of light, highlighting the transparency of the skeleton movement.
The case, with micro-beaded sides and satin-brushed lugs, is coated in blue PVD. Orange details – on the hour markers, the inner line of Ulysse Nardin's signature "X" and the protective rubber on the crown – add a pop of color and underline the model's sporty character. The bezel is crafted from blue Carbonium®, the same material Ulysse Nardin used on the Freak X. Carbonium® is an extremely lightweight aerospace material, one of the strongest and most durable materials scientists have ever developed. It's the same fiber used in the fuselages and wings of modern aircraft. Produced from waste materials, it has a 40% lower environmental impact than other carbons. This high-performance material is created through a complex process that subjects carbon fibers just 7μm in diameter to high pressure and heat, forcing them to form a unique pattern unique to the watch. The Diver X Skeleton is available with a rubber strap in Ocean Blue or Supercharged Orange, featuring the orange Ulysse Nardin anchor. A constant reminder that Ulysse Nardin has always looked to the stars and weathered the waves.
