Committed to building bridges between cultures, Audemars Piguet is pleased to present its "House of Wonders" at the historic Shanghai Exhibition Centre. The building's exterior is designed to resemble Audemars Piguet's headquarters in Le Brassus, where the founder built the brand's first manufacture. Inside, a contemporary design evokes the nature and ateliers that nurtured generations of artisanal skills.
Since its founding in 1875, a spirit of collaboration has played a key role in the company's survival and identity. The exhibition highlights the passion and craftsmanship of the talented artisans who have shaped Audemars Piguet for 150 years, from the founding of the "Etablissage," a network of highly specialized workshops in the Vallée de Joux that share the work of creating each component needed to complete a watch, to the present day. Visitors will embark on an exclusive journey through the brand's past, present, and future, discovering the craftsmanship and relentless quest for innovation that has propelled the brand to new heights.

The "House of Wonders" offers an interactive experience that will captivate, educate, and inspire anyone who visits. While focusing on the history of Audemars Piguet, the exhibition also explores the wider world of watchmaking, tracing its traditions and evolution both in Switzerland and abroad. Comprised of themed rooms, the exhibition begins with the Clock Room, a play on the name of the cloakroom, located under a watchmaker's giant magnifying glass. After unravelling the concept of time, the exhibition then transports visitors to the snow-capped Swiss Jura Mountains, setting the stage for the Audemars Piguet story to unfold. As visitors progress through the Time Gallery, the Design Vault and the Observatory, each chapter in the brand's history is presented through immersive storytelling, based on carefully selected archival materials, including rare documents, books and watches dating back to the company's founding.

Visitors will learn how the three main complications – chiming, calendar and chronograph – work, discovering the mechanical secrets of watchmaking and its deep connection to the universe. Rare timepieces from the brand's historical archives will be on display, along with new collections, demonstrating how time-honored craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology combine in the modern era. The Innovation Lab also offers a glimpse into the future of watchmaking through ongoing research and development, offering the opportunity to discover new materials and technological advancements.
