On December 25th, 3331 Arts Chiyoda, an art center in Kanda, Tokyo, will host a market and workshop event themed around welcoming the New Year, called "Samurai Market ~New Year's Market~." 3331 Arts Chiyoda is an art center renovated from a former junior high school. The center houses a gallery, shop, rental space, and a parent-child rest area. Once a month, the center hosts a small market called "Samurai Market" with a variety of themes. As part of this initiative, the center will host a variety of events themed around "New Year's," allowing visitors to experience Japanese New Year's culture while having fun. On the day, as part of a fun "New Year's" recommendation, items such as calendars, envelopes, New Year's cards, beans, miso, mandarin oranges, and tea will be on sale. There will also be workshops where visitors can make mini brooms, hairpins, straw accessories, and more. There will also be an introductory workshop for beginners to shogi using "Daimyōkoma" shogi pieces, which won this year's Good Design Award. There will also be events for people of all backgrounds to enjoy, such as a corner where people can bring their own New Year's cards and write them. Participants include Tojiba, Nakatsu Houki, Kisagera, NPO Straw Art JAPAN, and Replug (Re+g).
