Shinjuku Isetan proposes a quiet way to prepare for the New Year. What is a "quiet and beautiful life" for adults?

Dec 21, 2016

A pop-up shop themed "Living Quietly and Beautifully," themed on "How Adults Welcome the New Year in a Calm Way," will be held at Isetan Shinjuku's 4th floor West Park #4 from December 26th to January 3rd (closed on New Year's Day and January 2nd).

With Christmas, year-end parties, and spring cleanings bringing us closer to December, it's important to remember to cherish each day and live carefully. This event will feature knitwear and accessories selected by Takami Matsumoto, a model renowned for her fashion sense and a column in a fashion magazine offering ideas for everyday life, including accessories and mail-order shopping.

First, we'll be showcasing a cashmere knit sweater as "clothing that's comfortable and allows you to be yourself." With no seams on either side, this knitwear offers ideal comfort and fit. It's made at a factory in Yamagata that specializes in whole garment production. Available in short-sleeved (¥23,000) and long-sleeved (¥26,000). Other items on offer include a cashmere parka (46,000 yen) and a dress (49,000 yen). These exceptional pieces, with a soft, fluffy feel, are both easy to wear and high-quality, allowing you to fully appreciate the feel of cashmere. Winter clothing tends to be heavy in color, but the collection also includes cashmere knitwear in muted greens and yellows, which will brighten up your at-home styling.

Other items on offer include Gotland sea rags to keep you warm during this bitterly cold season, W&FW socks (14,600 yen) made from high-quality cashmere that are also fashionable, Mori no Iro (Forest Colors) room fragrance (4 varieties) made with natural aromas distilled from trees native to the Kii Peninsula, and beautifully patterned storage boxes from BOX&NEEDLE, among other items that will add color to your life and lead to a comfortable living space.

Takami Matsumoto is also scheduled to visit the store from 2pm on the first day of the event, the 26th. It will be a great opportunity to hear from her about tips for spending the New Year holidays with a calm mind.
