The first project since the establishment of Mitsukoshi Isetan Transit, a joint venture between Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings and Transit General Office, marks the Japanese debut of Sydney's Italian restaurant, Fratelli Paradiso. It will open in April 2017 at Omotesando Hills in Tokyo.
Fratelli Paradiso was opened in Sydney's Potts Point in 2001 by brothers Enrico and Giovanni Paradiso and Marco Ambrosino. At a time when there were no restaurants open in the evenings in Potts Point, the restaurant unconventionally opened as a lively all-day dining venue, combining a restaurant and a cafe. Today, its charming service, which unites customers and staff, has earned it a reputation among foodies who are well-versed in Sydney's dining scene and trends.
The restaurant's focus is on Italian cuisine that emphasizes ingredients. The restaurant is also known in Sydney as the one that popularized natural wine, and offers a wide variety of natural wines. In 2010, it opened 10 William Street, a bar that mainly stocks natural wines, and in 2016 it was ranked 25th in Australia's renowned TOP 100 RESTAURANTS awards, with 10 William Street coming in 16th.
The new restaurant opening in Omotesando will feature a wine bar area and a dining area within a 375-square-meter space. There is planned seating for 140 customers.
