Kanarusha, a retailer of Japanese antiques, will be holding a pop-up event titled "Tsunagu: Things Passed Down Through Use" at the PASS THE BATON GALLERY in Omotesando Hills from December 29th to January 22nd, 2017. Kanarusha is a shop specializing in Meiji-era Japanese chests of drawers, as well as tableware and antiques made throughout Japan from the Edo period through prewar. This pop-up event will feature chests and storehouse doors, renowned worldwide for their uniquely Japanese design, as well as Ko-Imari sake cups, Meiji-era red-painted plates, and retro stamped plates. The venue will also introduce ideas for connecting Japanese antiques to the next generation. The chests and storehouse doors will be fitted with detachable iron stands, allowing them to be used as lowboards or dining tables, while the Ko-Imari and red-painted tableware will be proposed as gorgeous tableware that can be enjoyed paired with modern tableware.
