Spend the New Year with Jean-Paul Hévin with Galette des Rois and New Year's Gateaux

Dec 28, 2016

Jean-Paul Hevin is celebrating the New Year with the "Bonne Annee (Happy New Year!) Collection," which is on sale until January 13, 2017, at all Jean-Paul Hevin boutiques and the eat-in space "Bar à Chocolat."

When it comes to traditional French sweets perfect for the New Year, the "Galette des Rois" is a must-have. It is said that whoever finds a ceramic doll called a "fève" inside the cut-up galette will be celebrated as king for the day and be blessed with good fortune for the year, so it can also be enjoyed as a kind of "test of luck." The "Galette des Rois Equateur" (21cm / 4,212 yen including tax) and the "Petit Galette des Rois Equateur" (13cm / 2,646 yen including tax) contain an Eiffel Tower fève inside! Enjoy the blissful taste of chocolate made with Ecuadorian Grand Cru cacao and a generous amount of almond cream, wrapped in a chocolate-flavored pie crust. At Bar à Chocolat, you can enjoy it as a set with your favorite drink (1,404 yen including tax).

Evan's specialty chocolates include bonbons with a new recipe, available only for the New Year. These colorful chocolates would make a great gift, such as the elegant "Vichy Rose" (452 yen including tax) with its subtle tartness of bergamot, and the "Rayeur Violet" (452 yen including tax) with its peppery citrus aroma.

Also, be sure to check out the limited-edition gateau available only for the New Year. "MOF 2016" (772 yen including tax), which is usually only sold at the Jean-Paul Hévin Kyoto store, will be sold at all boutiques from January 1st to 8th, and "Mon Fuji" (688 yen including tax) will be sold only on weekends and holidays from January 1st to 31st.

Why not welcome in a joyful New Year by adding some Hévin chocolate to your year-end and New Year parties or gatherings?
