Dior unveils Spring/Summer 2017 advertising campaign showcasing twin sisters' different femininity

Dec 29, 2016

Dior has unveiled the visuals for its Spring/Summer 2017 women's advertising campaign, the first collection under new artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The shoot was handled by French photographer Brigitte Lacombe, known for her portraits of celebrities relaxing in their private spaces. The models are twins Ruth and Mae Belle. The campaign is part of "THE WOMEN BEHIND THE LENS," a series of photographs capturing women's personal perspectives on the collection. Brigitte Lacombe's stripped-back, beautiful shots highlight the individuality of the twin sisters, and with Maria Grazia Chiuri's interpretation, the campaign successfully portrays Dior's vision of modern beauty and femininity.

By Ruth and May Belle wearing embroidered tulle evening dresses and ensembles inspired by fencing uniforms, the different "femininity" of the twin sisters is further highlighted, giving the work a unique presence as an expression of "the unwavering self found within a unique femininity."
