On March 31st, the large-scale commercial facility "Tokyu Plaza Ginza" (5-2-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) opened at the corner of Sukiyabashi Crossing in Ginza, Tokyo. 
 
The new Ginza landmark, themed "tradition and innovation," spans 13 floors, from the second basement floor (basement floors 3-5 are parking) to the 11th floor. Directly connected to the C2 and C3 exits of Tokyo Metro Ginza Station, with an elevator directly to the third floor on the Sukiyabashi Crossing side, provides convenient access.
 
The facility features a total of 125 stores, offering a wide range of experiences, including food, culture, and fashion, catering to everyday life. The first and second floors are lined with high-profile global brand stores, the second basement floor and the 10th and 11th floors are a restaurant zone featuring popular gourmet restaurants, the sixth floor and rooftop are open public spaces with cafes, and the first basement floor and the third through ninth floors are a shopping zone offering a wide variety of shops. Street-level stores of global brands line the first and second floors
The gold façade of BALLY stands out on the Sukiyabashi crossing side. This is the world's largest flagship store, and offers the largest selection of items in Japan. It also features Japan's first "Gentleman's Corner," creating a space where customers can enjoy hands-on shopping. Meanwhile, HUNTER and GLOBR-TROTTER have their first flagship stores in Japan on Nishi Ginza Street. Globe-Trotter is the first store in the world to offer not only travel cases but also a full leather collection. To commemorate the opening, bags in colors exclusive to the Ginza store will also be available. Hunter is also the first flagship store in Japan to carry the full line. To commemorate this milestone, Hunter has released a limited run of 160 pairs of rain boots with gold buckles and the "Ginza" logo engraved on them. Other brands that have also made impressive openings include Emporio Armani, which has relocated from Armani Tower and carries a full range of men's and women's items, Strasburgo, which is opening its first store in the Ginza area, Cruciani, and Edward Green.

Hinkalinka: Tokyu Department Store's New Select Shop Format
Hinkalinka, a select shop run by Tokyu Department Store, located on the 3rd to 5th floors, is a new style of shop that categorizes items according to the purchaser's "mood." The first floor (3rd floor) is themed around "exhilaration, discovery, and stimulation," and offers miscellaneous goods, select apparel, and cosmetics. The space will include TIMELESS TOKYO, a brand that will be opening its first store in Ginza and will offer a selection of vintage bags and accessories from brands such as Chanel, Hermès, and Fendi, as well as a space selling Dior cosmetics. The second floor (fourth floor), which is based on the themes of "longing, excitement, and a sense of exclusivity," will primarily carry 1,000 pairs of shoes from approximately 60 domestic and international brands. The unique selection ranges from well-known brands such as Charlotte Olympia, Stella McCartney, and Maison Margiela to Ipanema with Starck, which debuted in Spring/Summer 2016. The third floor (fifth floor), which is designed to be "empathetic, natural, and relaxing," will showcase current Tokyo culture with baby and kids gift store MARLMARL, chocolate specialty store Cacao Market by Maribel, and trending sneakers from Nike and adidas Originals. Limited-edition items will also be available, including sneakers from PIERRE HARDY and denim from DENHAM.

The 8th and 9th floors have been taken over by Lotte Duty Free Shop Ginza, Tokyo's largest airport-style duty free shop. The shop sells products exempt from customs duties, consumption tax, liquor tax, and tobacco tax, catering to foreign visitors to Japan and Japanese people departing from the country. The brand lineup includes apparel such as GUCCI, ALEXANDER MQUEEN, COACH, and TORY BURCH, watches such as FRANCK MULLER and OMEGA, sunglasses such as FENDI and Dior, cosmetics such as TOMFORD, SK-II, and ESTEE LAUDER, as well as chocolates, alcohol, and cigarettes from GODIVA.

Two-thirds of the 7th floor is Tokyu Hands' new business, Hands Expo. Based on the concept of "connecting cultures and nurturing culture," the store is divided into five zones -- "Wa" (harmony), "Miyako" (city), "Knowledge," "Beauty," and "Food" -- and sells miscellaneous goods, stationery, accessories, seasonings, sweets, and household items. There is also a cafe with a stage in the back. The 5th floor is home to Slow House, a select shop by Actus that carries brands such as Ouur; Nigel Cabourn's first women's shop, Nigel Cabourn Woman Army Gym; and Markquart Design i, a select shop that carries mizuiro ind and the men's brand MIDIUMMISOLID, which just debuted this spring. The sixth floor is home to a lineup of stores that focus on Japanese craftsmanship, including "IKIJI," which opened its first store in Tokyo's downtown Sumida Ward, "Kyototo," a popular embroidery accessory store in Higashiyama, Kyoto, and "SIWA Collection," which offers items made from paper.
