A limited-edition store showcasing the latest in Yohji Yamamoto has opened at Isetan Men's. It also features limited-edition and pre-sale items, as well as a novelty item featuring the artist himself

Yohji Yamamoto is hosting a pop-up store on the first floor of Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building until April 12th. The store, which embodies designer Yohji Yamamoto's creative endeavors based on keywords such as "fashion," "art," and "music," will feature items from the 2016 Spring/Summer and 2016-17 Fall/Winter seasons, as well as exclusive items exclusive to Isetan Mitsukoshi and pre-sale items. The key item is the second installment of the Yohji Yamamoto Reprica collection, which was released to rave reviews in October 2015. This time, the focus is on the oversized white shirt, one of the key items from the "Scarecrow" theme of the 1994 Spring/Summer collection. The style of wearing a loose-fitting shirt tucked out is making a comeback. The material used for the shirt is Mayotae, a hemp cloth brand created in collaboration between Isetan Mitsukoshi and Avex Group. The front of the venue will be lined with Mayotae shirts, which have a supple and cool feel, including the Isetan Mitsukoshi exclusive "Mayotae Shirt" (62,000 yen).

The 2016 Spring/Summer collection will include a foldable clutch bag (30,000 yen), created in collaboration with painter Yuka Asakura. The surface is printed with a rich, layered acrylic abstract painting. Other items on offer include T-shirts, silver jewelry, pass cases, and eau de toilette, all featuring ink-wash sketches by Yohji Yamamoto himself. The 2016-17 Fall/Winter collection includes a T-shirt (¥28,000) featuring a portrait of Yohji Yamamoto printed in a drawing-like style, as well as collection items such as a Maxim Super Layered T-shirt with a drawing coordinated over a down jacket and a quilted skirt. Also on display is "THE CROW" (¥800,000), a crow sculpture created in collaboration with remake artist Yuta Hosokawa. The piece is crafted using materials and brand names from Yohji Yamamoto's past collections. Each feather was attached by hand. Other items available include a pre-sale of the Yohji Yamamoto x New Era 2016 Spring/Summer skull cap (¥14,000), as well as past art books, perfumes, eyewear, and other items not available in regular stores. Visitors can also see illustrations and logos created exclusively by Yohji Yamamoto for the store.

During the event, the first 200 customers who spend over 10,800 yen (tax included) will receive a free copy of the "Yohji Yamamoto Original Soundtrack." This is a valuable novelty item, featuring recordings of the 2016 Spring/Summer Paris Collection runway, as well as background music of Yohji Yamamoto singing and playing the guitar himself.
