The "Versatile Art Exhibition by Cultural Figures and Entertainers" is back for its 16th year. Starting June 25th-29th at Spiral Hall in Aoyama, Tokyo, the exhibition will tour around the country, visiting art galleries and museums across the country, over the course of approximately one year. The exhibition showcases artworks by actors, fashion models, musicians, athletes, lawyers, photographers, painters, members of parliament, manga artists, and more. This year's exhibit features works by SEKAI NO OWARI vocalist Fukase, who painted the band members' faces in "DJ LOVE," as well as calligraphy by actor Yakusho Koji, paintings and photographs by fashion models Oshikiri Moe, Maikawa Aiku, and actress Tsuchiya Anna, felt works by film commentator LiLiCo, and watercolors by Yuki Anna and comedian Mori Shintaro of the comedy duo Doburoku. In addition, political figures such as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, LDP Secretary-General Shigeru Ishiba, and former Prime Ministers Yasuo Fukuda, Taro Aso, and Yukio Hatoyama have also exhibited calligraphy and paintings.
With the cooperation of photographer Henry Grossman, known for capturing historical figures such as presidents and Hollywood stars, the exhibition will feature rare works by Robert Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, the Beatles, and Meryl Streep, all on public display for the first time.
First held as a charity event supporting welfare activities in 1999, the exhibition has been held since 2012 as a "Special Charity Project in Support of Great East Japan Earthquake Relief." Currently, it is scheduled to be held at Spiral Hall and the Sakata City Museum of Art in Yamagata.
