Actress Judy Garland was born on June 10, 1922, in Minnesota, USA. She passed away on June 22, 1969.
She made her stage debut at the age of three, passed a test at MGM Studios in 1936, and made her film debut. She rose to fame in 1939 when she played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Her theme song, "Over the Rainbow," was also a huge hit, and she won a Special Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She appeared in numerous major musicals, including The Little Women and Easter Parade, and married director Vincente Minnelli in 1944. She gave birth to a daughter, Liza. However, contrary to her pure, cheerful, and healthy image, she struggled with neurosis and drug addiction from the early 1940s. Although he was highly praised for his brilliant performance in 1954's A Star Is Born, his private life became troubled due to his drug use and promiscuous sex life, and his work dramatically decreased. He died in 1969 from an overdose of sleeping pills.
