Mizu, a stainless steel bottle brand from California, USA, for which Ueni Trading Co., Ltd. serves as the exclusive distributor in Japan, will begin selling cutlery sets on its official online store (https://mizulife.jp) from April 1, 2021.

Mizu is a stainless steel bottle brand founded in the United States in 2008 with the aim of reducing single-use plastic products. The brand name comes from the Japanese word for "water." Respect for the environment, a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle, sophisticated beauty... We put many thoughts into creating our products, putting them into this simple name that is familiar to Japanese people. Furthermore, the brand is a member of "1% FOR THE PLANET" and donates 1% of sales to environmental protection organizations, actively working toward the SDGs and playing a part in sustainability through its brand.
To help people contribute to environmental conservation in their everyday lives, the brand is now releasing a cutlery set that includes a spoon, fork, knife, chopsticks, straw, straw brush, and dedicated case. The cutlery body is made of durable, rust-resistant 18/8 stainless steel, ensuring long-lasting use. The tip of the straw is made of silicone, reducing the risk of injury from direct contact with the stainless steel and the mouth or teeth. This item is perfect not only for outdoor and leisure activities, which will become more common in the coming season, but also for the office.

Mizu founder Jussi Oksanen is one of the greatest backcountry snowboarders of all time, with an illustrious career that included representing Finland at the Olympics and winning a gold medal at the X Games. One day, while shooting a snowboarding movie in Alaska with his friend, filmmaker Brad Kremer, Oksanen witnessed the serious environmental problems caused by single-use plastic bottles. Inspired by this, he began searching for a reusable bottle that would meet his hydration needs and fit his style, and realized he wasn't the only one in need. To bring his dream to fruition, he founded the company Mizu in 2008. Jussi has lived in California since 2005 and remains based there, where he continues to work with like-minded ambassadors to reduce plastic products through Mizu products.

"1% FOR THE PLANET" is a global corporate alliance that calls on companies to donate 1% of their sales to environmental protection activities. Mizu is a member of this organization, and in recent years has supported the Rob Machado Foundation, which educates children about the impact of single-use plastic products on the ocean, and TRADH HERO, which cleans up trash around the world. In the past, Jussi has also donated to many organizations, including Waves for Water, Charity Water, Give Clean Water, SIMA, and WILDCOAST. We believe that our mission is to cherish limited resources and provide a rich lifestyle that will continue for 100 years to come.
