ISSEY MIYAKE will release "BONE SERIES II," the second eyewear collection in the "ISSEY MIYAKE EYES PROJECT," a collaboration with eyewear manufacturer Kaneko Optical.
The "ISSEY MIYAKE EYES PROJECT" began in the fall of 2015 as a joint development project with Kaneko Optical. The first installment was inspired by the brand's origins: a single piece of fabric. It focused on creating a single, unbroken line, like a single stroke of a brush.
The second installment features a slim, lightweight, and durable beta titanium material, achieving strength and exceptional comfort. The slim, textured beta titanium is complemented by acetate, which boasts excellent color development and luster, creating a beautiful design with a contrasting texture. The collection is based on the concept of "playing with color," and features carefully selected color lenses.
Four frame models are available: "HEXAGON II," "PENTAGON II," "WELLINGTON II," and "BOSTON II." Each will be available in four colors, for a total of 16 variations. Each variation will be coordinated with the optimal color lens, and some color variations will feature unique models in which the color appears different on the front and back. Prices are 46,000 yen for the sunglasses and 44,000 yen for the optical lenses, with the optical lenses being sold exclusively at Kaneko Optical stores.
