A book exploring the creative process of designer Miyake Issey, "Creativity is Born: Miyake Issey | Rebirth and Re-creation," will be released on March 25th.
Miyake Issey and the REALITY LAB team create garments from a single paper pattern with a regular arrangement of valley and mountain folds, without using patterns for the bodice or skirt. How does Miyake Issey create such a garment structure? The book unravels Miyake Issey's creative process with visuals, including original photographs by Araki Nobuyoshi.
An exhibition related to the book, "MIYAKE ISSEY: The Work of Miyake Issey," is running until June 13th at the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi, Tokyo.
