For its Spring/Summer 2021 collection, EMILIO PUCCI has collaborated with Japanese designer TOMO KOIZUMI, a finalist for the 2020 LVMH Prize.
Emilio Pucci has previously collaborated with renowned figures in the art world and has presented works that utilize the brand's signature abstract design patterns.
For this capsule collection, TOMO KOIZUMI combines a joyful color palette inspired by the Vetrate print from Emilio Pucci's archives with his own distinctive approach to bold, airy silhouettes with a sense of volume.
The 11 organza looks are transformed into wearable art sculptures with dramatic silhouettes that reflect the peach, yellow, and white hues of the Vetrate print.
To celebrate this collaboration, a special exhibition will be held at the BA-TSU ART GALLERY from March 27th to 29th.
The special exhibition will feature the Tomo Koizumi x Emilio Pucci capsule collection alongside works by three artists: sculptor Ryosuke Yazaki, artist Mio Yamato, and artist Shojo Oido, and will allow visitors to experience the collaborative work in a special space.
Each piece has been carefully positioned, allowing visitors to discover and absorb the thoughts and energy of each artist as they move through the exhibition. Just as Emilio Pucci once infused his creative work with messages of happiness that can be transmitted from person to person, come and experience the refined sensibilities of artists who visualize the invisible.

Participating Artists
Yazaki Ryosuke
Born in Tokyo in 1965, Yazaki Ryosuke is a master sculptor active both in Japan and abroad. His grandfather was the renowned sculptor Torao Yazaki, a contemporary of Brancusi and Giacometti. After studying art at Nihon University, he traveled to the UK for further education. His works combine clay, terracotta, and wood, and are expressed in bold colors such as marigold and cobalt. His works are characterized by mystical forms reminiscent of mid-century design, as well as Cubist abstract forms. His works are appealing not only for viewing indoors, but also for being able to pick them up and feel their energy.
Yamato Mio
Born in Shiga Prefecture in 1990, she completed her Master's degree at Kyoto University of Art and Design (now Kyoto University of the Arts) in 2015 and is currently based in Kyoto. She is an artist who creates paintings and installations, primarily focusing on her "repetition" series, which is comprised of repeated dots and individual pen-drawn lines, and her "under my skin" series, which reconstructs the workings of her own blood cells on screen and in space. Just as a tree gradually builds rings in accordance with the laws of nature, she attempts to visualize the sublime laws and systems of nature through the body. Her works lack a concrete vision of their completion; rather, the images that emerge from the repetition of simple movements capture the passage of time on canvas, creating images that are somehow organic and intimate.
Oido Shojo
Born in Osaka in 1984, she currently resides in Nara. He held solo exhibitions at FOIL Gallery in Kyoto in 2014 and at the Essential Store in Osaka in 2015. In 2018, he exhibited his work at Koishikawa House in Tokyo. In 2020, he held a two-person exhibition with Kazunori Hamana at Blum & Poe in Tokyo. Emilio Pucci, the Marquis of Emilio Pucci, founded his eponymous company in 1947 and became known worldwide as the "Prince of Prints." Born on the island of Capri as a luxury sportswear brand, Pucci's kaleidoscopic prints, inspired by natural landscapes, architecture, and exotic cultures, left a lasting impression. Blending Italian vibrancy with clean forms, Pucci's work embodies color, freedom of movement, and an unconventional, sophisticated lifestyle. In April 2000, the Pucci family and LVMH formed a partnership, acquiring 67% of the company. Today, Pucci's vision is beloved worldwide, offering a multigenerational clientele a complete wardrobe, highlighting the allure of the Italian lifestyle, from evening wear to beachwear, including accessories such as scarves, sneakers, eyewear, and junior collections. Their creativity extends beyond fashion to design and home collections.

【TOMO KOIZUMI】
Koizumi's interest in fashion began as a child, watching his fashion-loving mother. In his early teens, he was inspired by a book he came across titled "John Galliano for Dior," which inspired him to decide to become a fashion designer. In 2011, a boutique owner became interested in a dress Koizumi had made as a university student, leading him to launch his own brand, "TOMO KOIZUMI." After working as a stylist and assistant to a costume artist, he expanded his career as a costume designer. In February 2019, his first runway show was supported by world-renowned designers Katie Grand, Marc Jacobs, and KCD Public Relations, Inc. Two of his pieces have been exhibited at the MET Museum, one of which was purchased by the museum. In April 2020, he was selected as a finalist and co-winner of the LVMH Prize. The bright colors and bold silhouettes of his bespoke collections and costumes have become synonymous with his brand, and it is now beloved by international celebrities and artists.
