Jil Sander celebrates its 40th anniversary with limited edition tote bags at the Isetan Shinjuku pop-up store

Sep 20, 2013

Jil Sander, celebrating its 40th anniversary this fall, will open a pop-up store on the third floor of the main building of the Isetan Shinjuku department store from October 1st to 8th.
The store, decorated with polyhedrons similar to the brand's 2013-2014 Autumn/Winter collection show venue, will carry new Fall/Winter collections as well as the "Jil Sander Anniversary Edition" items commemorating the anniversary.
The limited edition deerskin tote bag (144,900 yen) comes in black and white and comes with a leather tag reading "Jil Sander Anniversary Edition."
Jil Sander was founded by designer Jil Sander in 1973. Raf Simons served as creative director from 2005, but Jil returned as creative director himself from the 2013 Spring/Summer season.

This fall/winter season, the brand is proposing a sculptural, minimalist style, drawing inspiration from mathematician Benoît Mantenbrot's fractal theory and architect Oscar Niemeyer's beautiful curves.
