Fendi opens new flagship in historic building in Milan

Sep 25, 2013

FENDI has opened its new flagship store in Palazzo Carcassola Grandi, Via Montenapoleone 3, Milan.

The boutique is located in a historic building originally built in the 16th century as the home of the noble Carcassola family. Its Renaissance exterior remains intact, and the luxurious character of the mansion is meticulously reflected in every detail. The interior is primarily made of travertine, a material symbolic of the monuments and architecture of Rome, the birthplace of Fendi. The store has a dark first floor, featuring black stone with deep blue highlights, and a light-colored parquet floor on the second floor.

On the first floor, light installations made of amber resin cover the columns, and products are displayed in niches in the travertine walls. A video created by French artist Patrick Jean is projected onto the facade of the columns. The second floor retains the original architectural structure and consists of five rooms, including a fur room and a room for custom-made Selleria bags.
