
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow was born on September 27, 1972, in Los Angeles, California. Her mother is actress Blythe Danner, and her brother is a film director. She studied art history at the University of California but dropped out to pursue acting. She made her film debut in the 1991 film "Seven." After appearing in minor roles in TV dramas and films for a while, she rose to fame in 1995 with her role in David Fincher's "Seven." She became engaged to Brad Pitt, with whom she played a married couple in the film, in 1996, but broke up the following year. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for her starring role in the 1998 film "Shakespeare in Love." She also dated Ben Affleck, who co-starred with her in the film, but they broke up after about a year. She has appeared in four films in the Iron Man series, which began in 2008, as Tony Stark's love interest. She married Chris Martin, the lead singer of the rock band Coldplay, in 2003, and gave birth to their daughter in May 2004 and their son in April 2006. In 2013, she was named the top "Most Beautiful People of 2013" by People magazine. She has also served as a spokesperson for brands such as Tod's, Coach, Max Factor, and Hugo Boss, and in 2008 founded the lifestyle e-commerce site goop.com.
