DIESEL has released the second Autumn/Winter collection of its collaboration project, "DIESEL+EDUN," with EDUN, a brand founded by Ali Hewson, wife of U2's Bono. Like the first collection, this collection sourced materials from Africa, with all manufacturing and processing taking place locally. Available at Diesel stores nationwide. This second collection is inspired by the traditional clothing of the Tuareg people, a desert people of West Africa. The collection features pieces in deep indigo and black, as well as loose-fitting foulard fabric. Furthermore, the collection's key element, denim, is inspired by the four-pocket jeans that were popular in South Africa in the 1970s. The denim is enhanced with a hot metal press to enhance its sheen, and gold zippers evoking the desert sand create a sophisticated look. Additionally, the project's campaign, "STUDIO AFRICA," features a music video produced entirely in Africa, featuring musicians whose creative work is inspired by Africa. The cast includes singer-songwriter and rapper SPOEK, sister duo FAARROW with a hybrid approach to POP and R&B, and OLUGBENGA, bassist and DJ for the British rock band Metronomy.
