As part of its autumn art project, OPAQUE Marunouchi will host "See-Through @ OPAQUE: A Place to Meet Your Unseen Future Self" in the "The Style" corner on the first floor of the store, starting October 3rd. The exhibition will run until the 9th.
Based on the theme of "PLAY & PRAY," Terai's paintings, which he describes as "exploring human behavior to its roots in play and prayer," are characterized by vibrant colors that fill small canvases.
Born in Tokyo in 1971, Terai moved to the UK alone in 1983. After graduating from Central Saint Martins, he majored in fine art painting at Winchester School of Art. He has worked as a staff member at the London select shop Browns, and is also known for his work in the fashion industry, having worked as a planner and buyer for numerous apparel brands based in London.
He currently exhibits over 1,500 pieces every three months, primarily abstract paintings. At Opaque Marunouchi, scarves, handkerchiefs, T-shirts and other items printed with the works will also be on sale along with the artworks themselves.
