To celebrate the launch of the Diesel x Edun Made-in-Africa denim collection this spring, an exhibition will be held at the Diesel Art Gallery in Shibuya. The exhibition will run until May 10th.
The exhibition will feature visuals from the global campaign "STUDIO AFRICA" as well as photographs by "I SEE A DIFFERENT YOU," a trio of photographers from Soweto, South Africa, who were selected for the campaign.
Inspired by African creativity, Diesel x Edun was launched by Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel, and U2's Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, founder of the fashion brand Edun. The project aims to support the development of the African continent by launching a Made-in-Africa denim collection and creating a sustainable business.
The denim collection is based on the four-pocket jeans that were popular on the streets of South Africa in the 1970s, and features details such as distinctive Mali textile prints, traditional Zulu weaving, and Kenyan metalwork, with four symbols that reflect the spirit of "Diesel x Edun" designed throughout. This collection will be available at major DIESEL stores nationwide and the DIESEL ONLINE STORE.
