On its official website, "Inside Chanel" (inside-chanel.com), CHANEL presents a short film telling the story of founding designer Gabrielle Chanel's life and the creations that shaped the brand's history.
Chapter 7 is titled "Gabrielle Chanel." After reopening her boutique in 1954 after World War II, Chanel held her first fashion show on Rue Cambon in Paris. Her style once again attracted worldwide attention, and she continued to produce fashion.
The suits, two-tone shoes, and quilted bags created around that time became symbols of CHANEL. Chanel passed away in 1971 at the Hotel Ritz, where she had been living, but her life and style continue to fascinate women today.
