The Fast Retailing Group will open the "GU Shibuya Parco Store" in Shibuya, Tokyo on June 18th. The store's concept is a "Girls Special Shop." The aim is to provide a new shopping experience by offering special services not available at existing stores. The store will offer four main services. The first is the "7 days closet," a closet that offers a week's worth of trendy outfits tailored to each day of the week. The second is "GU Fitting." This innovative service treats the entire Shibuya district as a giant closet, allowing customers to try on GU clothes and go out on the town to see how they fit in their everyday lives, or try them on with items from other stores to see how they coordinate. This innovative service will be available on a trial basis until June 30th. The third service is a "free delivery service" that offers free shipping anywhere in Japan for purchases over 3,000 yen. The fourth feature is a GU fashion advisor, an "Osharista," who will be on-site to provide fashion advice tailored to each customer's budget and preferences. Prior to the opening, Rola, a familiar face and GU commercial character, appeared at the opening press conference held on the 17th. GU President and CEO Osamu Yuzuki, who also appeared on stage, asked her to rate each of the four services on a five-star scale. She responded while pondering. As a result, she gave "7days closet" four stars. She expressed surprise that purchasing a day's worth of outfits would cost less than 5,000 yen. Incidentally, Rola is in charge of Friday outfits, but she said, "I have clear likes and dislikes, so I make the decision immediately!" Regarding her own everyday outfits, she said, "I decide what I'll wear the next day before I go to bed." Furthermore, she gave "GU Fitting" a five-star rating and "Free Shipping" a four-star rating. She expressed enthusiasm, saying she would like to use these services herself. However, she gave the "Osharesta" a harsh two-star rating, complaining, "The Osharesta staff are so cool, they'll probably be snatched up by other customers in no time." However, when President Yuzuki asked, "What if you could rent an Osharesta and go out with them in Shibuya with GU Fitting?" she changed her rating to four stars and presented her own idea: "It would be even better if they could carry your shopping bags for you!" Also, for a limited time until the 27th, GU is running a "Find the Statue of Liberty!" campaign using the "GU app." With location services enabled, point your camera toward Shibuya from anywhere in the country and the Statue of Liberty will appear. Tapping the statue will enter a drawing for a ¥100 coupon to be used at any GU store nationwide. Additionally, special merchandise commemorating the Shibuya store opening will be sold at GU stores nationwide. The 17 items (priced from ¥753 to ¥1,420) are designed with Shibuya girls in mind.
