Versace will open its first flagship store in Japan on November 23rd in the Ginza district of Tokyo (6-7-12 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). The store was designed based on a concept conceived by creative director Donatella Versace and British architect Jamie Forbert: "A place where the past meets the future." It blends traditional Italian flamboyance with the modern, dynamic energy of Versace today. The walls and shelves on the first floor, which primarily stocks accessories, are made of acrylic resin to create a floating appearance. In contrast to the walls and shelves, the floor features mosaics inspired by 9th-century Byzantine churches. The circular pathway-like flooring along the wall features brass accents, defining the store's luxurious atmosphere. The second floor, which houses the men's collection, features Fior di Bosco marble, while the third floor, which houses the women's collection, features Fior di Pesco marble. To commemorate the opening, a one-of-a-kind special bag (397,000 yen) designed by Donatella Versace will be released. It is made of pink python with a yellow gold Medusa, and features a tag engraved with "KONNICHIWA VERSACE GINZA" and a Medusa charm inspired by emojis.
