Hummel releases Nordic-colored running sneakers, bringing a spring-like, sporty take on 80s retro running.

The MARATHONA SUEDE is a sporty silhouette version of the MARATHONA archive model, a running shoe from the '80s. It will be available from the end of February on the official Hummel online store, as well as at sneaker shops nationwide.

The MARATHONA was born in 1983 as a running shoe for long-distance runners. This model was popular in Europe in the '80s and is now making a comeback in line with the trend for retro running style.


MARATHONA has also collaborated with world-renowned shops such as AFEW in Dusseldorf, Germany, OVERKILL in Berlin, HANON in Aberdeen, Scotland, and 24 Kilates in Barcelona, Spain. This is a signature item of Hummel sneakers, which has also collaborated in Japan with mita sneakers in Ueno, Tokyo, and Monkey Time, a street line developed by Beauty & Youth United Arrows.

A sporty take on the running shoes of the '80s, the MARATHONA SUEDE combines durable Cordura nylon with high-quality, long-pile suede for the upper. Ventilation holes on the side panels ensure comfortable breathability, making them ideal for spring and summer. Equipped with a recycled insole made by Ortholite, they also provide excellent cushioning.


These retro-style running sneakers match simple styles, creating a chic look while adding spring-inspired colours to the collar and outsole. The soft colours typical of Scandinavia create a nostalgic atmosphere.
