Rinko Kawauchi's new installation at Gucci Shinjuku explores the elusive "boundary"

Nov 16, 2015

Photographer Rinko Kawauchi's "Let's sing a song our bodies know" exhibition will be held at the Gucci Shinjuku 3rd floor event space from November 21st. The exhibition features a video installation and photographs featuring newly shot works by Kawauchi. Through the lens of a single girl, images captured in natural phenomena, Tokyo, and various other locations are stitched together and displayed on multiple monitors. Kawauchi's new work resonates with the creative concept presented by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele: "To express elusive boundaries." Kawauchi commented, "It's something that can only be born in a struggle. In this exhibition, I considered the idea that each person's memories are subconsciously connected to various other things, and the potential that each person possesses."
