On October 24th and 25th, Gucci simultaneously screened a special film for its 2016 Cruise Collection on five large screens surrounding Shibuya Scramble Crossing in Tokyo. This was Creative Director Alessandro Michele's first Cruise Collection, first unveiled in New York in June 2015. The collection, featuring eccentric and romantic pieces and a groundbreaking presentation that even used the city's streets as a runway, sensationally marked the beginning of a new chapter for Gucci. This time, Gucci's new creations, inspired by the streets of New York, were recreated at Shibuya Scramble Crossing. A two-minute special film depicting the world of the 2016 Cruise Collection, set in the warehouse on West 22nd Street, where the show was held, and the streets of downtown New York, was simultaneously screened on five large screens around the intersection. As the film began, the bustling crossing instantly fell silent, capturing the attention of spectators waiting for the lights to turn. Ten Instagrammers shared photos of the day using the hashtag "#GucciCruise16," creating a buzz.
