BOGLIOLI has announced the appointment of Davide Marello as creative director for both men's and women's lines. This marks the first time that BOGLIOLI has appointed a creative director. Davide's new collection will be unveiled at the 2016 Fall/Winter Milan Men's Collection in January.
Since last year, BOGLIOLI has shifted its presentation from Pitti Uomo in Florence, where it had previously presented its collections, to Milan during Milan Men's, and has also opened a flagship store in Milan. In September of this year, the brand will open its first flagship store in Japan, in the Marunouchi district of Tokyo. CEO Giovanni Manucci, who was in Japan at the time, commented, "We are currently considering the challenge of proposing BOGLIOLI's proud traditional Italian tailoring techniques in a more widespread and modern way," highlighting the brand's urgent need to strengthen its overall communication capabilities.
In the announcement, they commented, "Our customers appreciate the modern and timeless aspects of BOGLIOLI jackets. However, in today's rapidly changing world, more and more people want to know more about the brand's history and values. By appointing a new creative director, we hope to further deepen the brand's innovation, excellence and elegance."
The new director, Davide Mauro, lives in Milan. Influenced by his grandmother being a seamstress, he began his career in the fashion industry at an early age. He built his career at Giorgio Armani and then served as head of men's formal wear at Gucci for nine years.
