Oct 6, 2014

The "Book Cover Exhibition of Approximately 300 People" is running through October 14th (16th at LOFT) at Gallery X on the basement floor of Shibuya Parco Part 1 and at the LOFT Shibuya store. The first "Fictional Bookstore, Fictional Book Cover Exhibition" was held at the LOFT in Umeda, Osaka, and the second at the Logos Gallery in Shibuya Parco Part 1, and was met with rave reviews. This time, approximately 300 book covers, created by illustrators, designers, writers, shopkeepers, office workers, and students, will be on display and for sale. Retro Printing JAM, a printing company specializing in stencil printing, will also be hosting a simple silkscreen workshop. Using a silkscreen toy that can be made at home, participants can choose their favorite design and print it on a perfect-bound notebook or cloth book cover. The event will be held on October 11th from 12 noon to 2pm at Loft Forum on the 7th floor of Shibuya Loft, and from 3pm to 6pm at Gallery X. No reservations are required and the participation fee is 1,000 yen.

A public recording of the internet radio show "Honaga and Chihara's Yagi-san Radio" will also be held at Gallery X from 5pm on the 13th. Dance performer Honaga Yoko and art director Chihara Tetsuya will welcome guest Nakamura Kunio from Ogikubo's book cafe "6th Dimension" for a wide-ranging conversation on books, bookstores, people, places, events and more.
