
Actress Hiromi Nagasaku was born on October 14, 1970, in Asomachi, Namegata District, Ibaraki Prefecture (now Namegata City). In 1988, Nagasaku won the Best Performer Award in the Beauty Girl Contest on the variety show "All Night Fuji High School Girls Special." The following year, in 1989, she passed the audition for the talent development program Otome Juku, held on "Masashi Tashiro's Paradise GoGo!!," and debuted as a member of the group's first class. She formed the idol group Ribbon with fellow members Arimi Matsuno and Aiko Sato, and served as center from their second single, "Soba ni Iru ne," onward. However, the group disbanded around 1994. Although she debuted as an idol, Nagasaku gradually blossomed as an actress. In the 1995 drama "Sankaku Heart," she took advantage of her naturally baby face to play the role of high school girl Ikuko Nanami, despite being only 24 at the time, and drew attention. In 1996, she won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Television Drama Academy Awards, sponsored by KADOKAWA, publisher of the television information magazine The Television, for her performance in the drama "Hitorigurashi." She has since gone on to win numerous awards. Finally, in 2011, she won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 35th Japan Academy Awards for her role as Nonomiya Kiwako in the film "Yakame no Cicada." She also stars as Hoshino Tomomi in the drama "Sayonara Watashi," which begins airing on October 14th. She takes on the challenging role of a housewife who swaps bodies with her best friend, a successful film producer. The drama airs every Tuesday from 10:00 PM to 10:48 PM on NHK General TV. In recent years, she has been attracting attention for her youthful appearance, even in her 40s, and has appeared on the covers of numerous women's magazines. In April 2009, she married filmmaker Naito Maro. She gave birth to her first child, a boy, on May 18, 2010, and her second child, a girl, on June 18, 2013.
