Moncler x Leica collaborative camera released. Fabien Baron photography exhibition held at Sotheby's London.

Oct 15, 2014

An exhibition of Greenland's glaciers, photographed by Fabien Baron, opened at London auction house Sotheby's on October 15th. The exhibition coincides with the launch of the new Leica X Edition 'Moncler' camera, a collaboration between Moncler and luxury camera manufacturer Leica. It also serves as part of the Frieze Art Fair, taking place in London from October 15th to 18th. The project was born out of a shared interest in harsh environments, particularly polar regions: Leica cameras, designed to withstand harsh environments; Moncler down jackets, designed to protect against the harsh polar climate; and Baron, who has spent years photographing harsh landscapes in Iceland and elsewhere alongside his fashion photography. The exhibition features gigantic, 1.5-meter-tall prints of nighttime glaciers taken in Greenland this spring.

The Leica X Edition 'Moncler' comes with a Moncler down pouch and has a specially designed body color and leather strap. It is based on Leica's compact camera, the Leica X. It will be on sale at Moncler flagship stores and Leica stores by the end of the year.

A photo exhibition is also scheduled to be held in New York.
